Publicity

As Hamlet famously remarked, there’s no point putting on a play unless you get the right people along to see it. The No One Theatre Company has always greatly prided itself on the high calibre of its audiences. The natural home for such a company is the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where audiences are traditionally judged on their quality not quantity.

Festival Brochure In 1978, Edinburgh was a small village, little known outside Scotland, with just two trains per day and one hotel. The entire brochure for the Fringe Festival in those days could be folded up and inserted easily into a wallet or purse.

Poster The ingenious 'chameleon' design of this poster meant that it could be pasted onto walls and remain entirely invisible. It was also printed with a special ink that faded rapidly on exposure to light. There are only two known posters remaining in existence.

Flyer One of the great joys of the Fringe is participating in the improvised street performances known as 'distributing flyers'. In fact, many visitors to Edinburgh get a good deal more pleasure from receiving a high-quality flyer than attending the show itself.

Ticket The original of No One's famous 'Ticket 000'. Although only one was ever printed, many convincing forgeries are now in circulation and fetch high prices at auction.

Programme The No One Theatre Company has an inclusive' ticket policy - we do not charge for 'extras'. All audience members received a free copy of this programme, along with a complimentary bottle of whisky, a reclining chair and the traditional verbal abuse from members of the cast.
